Dr. David S. Wood, provost of Wofford College, has announced Dean's List students for the Spring 2014 semester, including:

BW's premier capstone celebration, Ovation 2014, spotlighted the outstanding creativity, research and academic and artistic achievement of BW students. At a traditional Honors Award Ceremony which caps off the event, the following distinguished students were recognized with scholarships and awards.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring Semester 2014 at Baldwin Wallace University according to Stephen D. Stahl, Provost. Students who receive at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester are named to the Dean's List.

The University of Findlay announces Merit Scholarship awards, which are based on a student's final, cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) and ACT/SAT scores. Scholarships are awarded beginning with the freshman year and are renewable for up to four years (for a total of five years of scholarship aid). Merit scholarships for transfer students are based on the student's GPA from all previous college-level institutions.

Students received awards at The University of Findlay's Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity on April 2. The annual event provides undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to share their research, creativity and professional learning experiences with the University and the community. More than 200 students received awards.

In summer 2014, graduate students in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly will travel to Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas to engage in action projects on vital human and ecological issues.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Graduate students in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly have been awarded a Community Engagement badge from the university for making a difference in human and ecological communities. As part of the GFP, students apply the tools of conservation science and advance the tenets central to the master's degree: inquiry, community and voice.

Three Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes, senior linebacker David Flegal (Akron/Revere), senior safety Zack Barley (Hudson) and junior safety Joe Kasper (Mentor), have been named as 2013 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-Americans. This is the most prestigious honor a collegiate football student-athlete can receive. Only one NCAA Division III institution had more student-athletes named to the team than BW.

Thirty-seven Baldwin Wallace University fall sport student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. To qualify, each student-athlete had to have a minimum 3.495 grade point average or higher and achieve varsity status on his or her team. BW had the second most selections of any OAC institution.

Four Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been named as first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7.

ROOTSTOWN, OHIO - Twenty-four high school sophomores and juniors attended and successfully completed the Pathways to Pharmacy program at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) June 24-28. Pathways to Pharmacy allows students from groups underrepresented in pharmacy to experience the pharmacy profession and career options for pharmacists through mentorship, enrichment programs and industry exposure in order to increase the number of students who graduate from high school and pursue pharmacy as a career. Students took part in personal development workshops, math and science enrichment activities and pharmacy-based lab activities. They also became familiar with basic pharmacy terminologies, gained an understanding of the pharmacy profession and learned the necessary requirements to matriculate into the College of Pharmacy at NEOMED. The program also provided optional work based learning experiences throughout the summer, which were set up individually by students with their local pharmacists.
