Thirty-seven students spent the spring 2017 semester away from BW learning off-campus. With help from the BW Study Abroad Center's Independent Study program, students created individualized immersion experiences in Australia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Morocco, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Washington, D.C.

Students at The University of Findlay recently participated in the 2015 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition. Any UF student was eligible to enter artwork for consideration. Categories included painting, drawing and mixed media, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, design, digital photography, film photography and visual communication.

The 2017 Student Life and Leadership Awards recognized the accomplishments of student leaders, faculty and staff advisers, organizations and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond.
BW celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony. The awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.
Forty-nine students achieved membership in Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) National Honor Society for First-Year Students in the spring 2017 semester. ALD is an honor society for full-time students who achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher and were in the top 20 percent of their class during their first year of higher education.
Summit DD honored five of our students today with its 2017 Community Impact Award for their volunteer work designing a prosthetic leg for a 5-year-old with a love of dance.
Thirty-seven caring Baldwin Wallace University students made a difference by volunteering at four diverse destinations during the 2016 fall semester. The BW Alternative Break service program gives students the opportunity to spend their breaks helping others. Each experience is led by a BW student with support from a University faculty or staff adviser. Student volunteers traveled to Detroit over Thanksgiving break and to San Antonio, New Orleans and Chicago over winter break.
More than 500 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.
More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $5.2 million dollars in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.
Capping off a day-long Celebration of the Liberal Arts at Wittenberg University, the campus community came together to celebrate the achievements of students and faculty members alike at the annual Honors Convocation in Weaver Chapel. The faculty commemorated the occasion in full academic regalia as the university recognized high achievement of students and faculty members in academic and co-curricular activities.
